Grace Episcopal Church
Christ, Community, Compassion

In response to the latest directives from the CDC and the State of Wisconsin we will be suspending in-person public worship in the Diocese of Fond du Lac until further notice. Below are some resources for this time of social distancing.

Healing and Reconciliation in a Time of Pandemic
In a time of great sickness, a pandemic, where do we turn for help? What do we mean when we use the word “healing”? Is healing for humans, or humans and animals or humans and animals and botanicals, or for all living creatures and for the habitats in which they live? What do we mean when we use the word “reconciliation”? Do healing and reconciliation synergize with one another, or work against one another? What are the sacraments that speak to the need for healing and reconciliation? Does God send illness, injury and death to build our character, to get our attention, to teach us a lesson?

Stations of the Cross
The custom of meditating upon Jesus’ final journey to the cross during the season of Lent dates back to the Middle Ages. The fourteen stations represent the scriptural and traditional events of Jesus’ journey from condemnation before Pilate to his death on the cross and his entombment.

acolytes

Acolyte

Service as an acolyte enriches the individual's understanding and appreciation of the worship service. In addition, it develops fellowship and teamwork among those who serve together. Acolytes serve important roles during our worship services by carrying the processional cross, carrying the torches, and by assisting the celebrant during the Eucharist.

Alter Guild Member

We believe the ministry of the Altar Guild is to serve both physically and prayerfully at the Lord's altar. Altar Guild members perform the "behind the scenes" preparation and clean up of the vessels and vestments used during the celebration of the sacraments.

Greeter

For many visitors and friends, the first point of contact with Grace Church is the greeter who welcomes them to our church. Greeters are a warm welcoming presence, as well as a source of information.

Lay Eucharistic Minister

Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy by administering the chalice during communion.

Lector

Lectors read the daily lessons at the Mass.

Usher

Ushers are responsible for greeting parishioners and guests as they enter the church, providing the appropriate bulletins, answering questions and assisting with seating. They walk the gifts to the altar, pass the collection plates, count the congregation, ring the bells, and see to any other needs that may arise during the worship service. Following the service they clean the pews for the next service.

Verger

Vergers are lay ministers who assist the clergy in the conduct of public worship. Vergers marshal the processions and prepare and coordinate those who serve in the liturgy.
